Our first social media marketing news of 2015 is hot off the presses!  Are you ready for social marketing in 2015?  These social network announcements will get you up to speed on some the latest social media tools coming your way in the new year.

Facebook Call to Action

You have most likely seen the calls to action your business can use when creating and sharing Facebook for business ads.  But did you know you can now add a call to action on your Facebook Page’s cover photo?  Admins can choose one of seven call-to-action buttons (Book Now, Contact Us, Use App, Play Game, Shop Now, Sign Up, Watch Video) to add to the right-hand, bottom of your business’s cover photo.

Instagram Adds Filters

How long has it been since Instagram added new photo filters?  Well, when they added Mayfair and Willow to the Instagram filter family, we were still looking at our 2012 calendars.  Finally, you have new filters – 5 of them called Slumber, Crema, Ludwig, Aden and Perpetua – to use when uploading images to your Instagram for business account.

Pinterest Pin Editing

Speaking of social media marketing and images, Pinterest just added a new way to edit Pins.  You can now move groups of pins to new or different Pinterest boards.  This is an excellent time-saving tool to help businesses get control over any unorganised or very large boards on Pinterest.

Slideshare Analytics

One of our favorite social media marketing channels for B2B brands is Slideshare.  One integral part of any social media for business strategy is analytic data – something that has been missing for Slideshare users unwilling to pay extra.  The good news is Slideshare Analytics are now open to all users, so make sure to add Slideshare presentations to your 2015 B2B social marketing strategy.

Facebook Post End Date

Has your business ever shared a time-sensitive Facebook post only to have that post continue to show up in your fan’s feeds – due to continued social engagement – long after the post content expiration date?  Would you find it useful to make sure a post had an expiration date?  Well, Facebook Page admins can now add a Facebook post end date to content and your post will stop showing up in your fans’ news feeds and only be seen on your actual fan page.

Twitter Tailored Audiences

Are you a fan of increasing your ROI with social media advertising?  Do you use Twitter as part of your paid social marketing plan?  If so, then you’ll be excited about this announcement from Twitter which read, “Today, we’re announcing tailored audiences from mobile apps, a new way for advertisers to create targetable audience segments based on mobile app actions such as an install, purchase or sign-up.”
